Introduction:

I have practiced in the area of family law since 1988 and limited my practice to collaborative practice and mediation. I am passionate about people resolving disputes in a respectful and supportive environment. I am a founding member of the Collaborative Divorce Association of Vancouver and, with Dr. Susan Gamache, the first co-chair of the group. I have led and designed training in the collaborative process as well as other subjects in dispute resolution, to groups across Canada the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. I have been an adjunct professor at both the University of British Columbia Law School as well as Hong Kong University. 

I have written numerous published articles on Collaborative Practice, as well as a book: Collaborative Practice: Deepening the Dialogue. I was the President of the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners in 2009 and served on the IACP Board for 6 years. I am a founding board member and the first president of the BC Collaborative Roster Society. I received my Queens Counsel Designation in 2005. I have been named to the peer-reviewed Best Lawyers in Canada (in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution) since 2012 and named "Best ADR Professional, Vancouver" for 2014 in Best Lawyers in Canada.
