Introduction:

I have been practicing family law exclusively since 2017 – first as a summer student at Rise Women's Legal Centre, and then as an articling student and family law lawyer at various boutique firms in Vancouver. I find my work as a family lawyer and collaborative practitioner deeply fulfilling.

I have a background in psychology, with a focus on relationships and relational dynamics, and I have specialized training and experience in family violence. I am regularly involved in family law matters involving complex financial structures, corporate interests, trusts, estates, and excluded assets, and I am well versed on all issues related to parenting including alienation and estrangement. As an immigrant, I am sensitive to different cultural practices and norms involving children and child rearing, and intergenerational family dynamics and involvement. I frequently negotiate, draft, and advise on all types of family law agreements including those involving asset protection, cohabitation and marriage, separation, parenting, and parentage and surrogacy. In addition to English, I am also fluent in the ex-Yugoslavian languages including Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian.

I believe the separation process can be done in a respectful and dignified way, laying the foundation for positive new beginnings. The collaborative process is unique because it encourages frank and constructive discussions, allowing individuals to explore creative and sustainable solutions that are mutually beneficial. As a collaborative lawyer I also encourage the involvement of other professionals such as mental health experts, financial experts, and parenting coaches, who can provide clarity and reassurance to parties, as well as tools to help them navigate their new lives. Together, we work as a team to set families up for future success as ex-spouses and co-parents.
